Shiloh Adoptions is happy to offer an adoption program in Thailand. We have established a working relationship with the DSDW, in Bangkok, Thailand to place children for adoption in the United States. We have a wonderful in country contact and she will be handling the Thailand in country process and will help to coordinate the travel arrangements. We are very blessed by our in country contacts.

Children Available
Children range in age from 12 months to 12 years. There are boys and girls available but there is a need for families to come forward to adopt the boys. Occasionally there are sibling groups or twins available but you may not adopt two unrelated children at the same time. The average age of the children waiting for families is 3-4 years old and special needs children are available as well. Special needs children are considered to have health issues but if a child is over age 5 they may be listed as special needs due to the age).

Requirements for Adopting Parents
  • Married couples must be married for at least 3 years
  • Prospective adoptive parents must be at least 25 years of age
  • Prefer for adoptive mother not to be over 50 and adoptive father not to be over 55 unless requesting an older child and then they may be considered for adoption process
  • Adoptive parents should be at least 15 years older than the child they are adopting
  • Families with children will be accepted but smaller family size is more desired
  • Couples should not have more than 2 divorces between them – this is reviewed on a case by case basis and they will ask for a letter to be submitted to the BOD (Board of Directors) prior to starting the adoption process. This letter would explain what the situations were and how long they were married.
  • No residency requirements
  • No formal income requirements but parent must provide proof of income with application
  • No restrictions regarding the space between age of children already in home and the age of requested child
  • No infertility requirements
  • Can submit a list of special needs you would accept with your dossier
  • Singles can be accepted on a case to case basis (Submit a letter to the BOD and homestudy and/or list of reasons wanting to adopt as well as age of parent, profession, who will care for the child – the BOD will decide on case to case basis regarding singles adoption in this manner)
Length of Wait for child
The length of wait can be anywhere from 3 – 24 months depending on availability of child requested and if all paperwork is complete.

When the child is referred to a family the process until travel is 3-4 months.
