Parent Education | Mandatory Parent Education Classes

Patty McLaughlin is Director of Parent & Family Education for Shiloh Adoptions. Patty is the author of the book: Different But Equal Parent Education. Patty is offering a class which meets all Hague requirements for pre-adoption education and preparation. This class is mandatory for Shiloh families. The Different But Equal class covers a lot of areas that include, but are not limited to, attachment, bonding, trans-racial/trans-ethnic issues, the core issues of adoption (and how they will affect our children as they get older), language acquisition, learning issues, and positive adoption language.

The fee for each class is $100, and includes the manual and postage. If you have attended a class before, and would like to attend as a refresher, there is no additional charge to you. The registration deadlines have been extended. If you would like to register for the class, please fill out the registration form and either email or fax it to Patty or the Topeka office as soon as possible.
