We are very excited to announce our Haiti program is now open! Please contact our program director for more information.

The Republic of Haiti is located on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola which it shares with the Dominican Republic & is approximately the size of Maryland. Haiti's culture is primarily a mix of African & French heritage as well as Spanish influence with the primary languages being French & Haitian Creole as well as Spanish near the border of the Dominican Republic. The capital of Haiti is Port-au-Prince & there are over 7 - 8 million people living in the country of Haiti. Haiti's tropical climate keeps the temperatures between 70 - 90 degrees year-round. Haiti is considered to be the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Because of the country's poverty, many children are available for adoption as parents are unable to supply even the basic needs of clean water, food & shelter. Reports estimate that at least 1 in 4 children die before the age of 5. There is a tremendous need for adoptive families for Haiti children.

We are very pleased to work with Barbara Walker of Reach Out to Haiti, Inc. Barbara has worked in Haiti for over 20 years in the adoption field & has an excellent reputation in the country. She has completed over 600 adoptions of Haitian children through her Ruuska Village. Although no two adoptions are the same (as far as length of time during the wait is measured), Barbara usually runs between 10 - 12 months to complete an adoption, once she has received the dossier. She is known for being the fastest adoption agency/facilitator in the country of Haiti & works hard to complete every adoption, faster than the last.
